6 Ways To Make Your Wedding Day Personal

Your wedding day is about celebrating the love of you and your fiance so why not add those special and personal touches to it? There are so many ways to incorporate your unique love story or backgrounds into your big day.

1. It Was Always A Love Song. Is music a big part of your relationship? Use songs with meaning rather than generic and common wedding day songs/trends. Have too many songs to choose from? There are many "highlighted events" that can begin with a special song; Procession, candle lighting/sand pouring, recession, wedding party announcement, bride & groom grand entrance, first dance, cake cutting, toast cue, bouquet toss, guarder toss, last dance, etc.

2. Don't Forget Where You Came From. Sometimes the most precious wedding items are passed down. Wear your mom's wedding dress or veil. Incorporate a broach from a family member or loved one. Place a song from your parents wedding into yours. Give your parents a special gift that you all wear to thank them for everything. Use the same type of flowers from your parents wedding. There are many ways to include and thank your family on your big day.

3. We Know You'd Be Here Today, If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away. If you are anything like my family, then you are very close! Not just close with your parents and siblings but you also see your aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and anyone else related on a regular basis. If family is near and dear to you, remember those who can not attend your wedding in flesh. Place their pictures on a table and light a candle in memory of them. Place them in your program. If you are religious, mention them in the prayer before dinner.

4. Bring The States To You. Are you and your fiance from different states? Have some fun with it and model your menu from each "home." Stations are a lot of fun! Say you are from the beach and your significant other grew up in the country have a station that serves foods known from each state!

5. Tell Your Love Story. Incorporate how/where you met, your first date, the proposal. One easy way to do this is through favors or table numbers. Was your first date at a movie? Have an old fashion popcorn station. Did he propose on the beach? Give out little "Message in A Bottle's" with your favorite quote or song as favors. Are yall highschool sweethearts? Take yearbook photos from the same years and use them on tables as numbers. Take your favorite songs to label each table. The option are endless to embody your personal love story into your wedding.

6. Make the Memories Last. PHOTOS! PHOTOS! PHOTOS! Guest always have such a good time when there is some kind of photo area set up. Whether it is an actual photobooth or a back drop with props, guest love to grab a bride or groom and goof off for memories that last forever. You can even make this your guest book and have guest paste their photo/strip in a scrapbook and write a note.
