Trendy Tuesday: Stationery

This Trendy Tuesday we are seeing what's trending in the wedding world with stationery! We spoke with Deb Hall of Olive Paper to see what her tips are and here is what she had to say....

STATIONERY

TREND #1: TEXTURED LOOKS

Pulling material into an invitation suite is big … so think digitally printed marble to give the marble effect without all the weight to pull beautiful “texture” into your printed materials.

TREND #2: WAX SEALS
Another trend is anything with a wax seal.  I love that all things old are new again …. and this is a favorite!  The most fun thing I have seen lately is a wax seal on an acrylic piece!  While the use of a wax seal might not be functional every time, it adds a vintage element to any stationery piece - from your invitation to wedding day printed items.

TREND #3:  DUO-GRAMS
While technically it’s not proper to use a 3-letter monogram prior to your wedding ceremony, I love that couples are still bringing a letter seal into their wedding stationery through a duo-gram (so just 2 letters versus 3 letters).  Typically you would use the first letter of each first name.  Your stationery designer can always create a 3 letter monogram with your “new” married initials for use on post-ceremony printed items.

TREND #4: BOLD COLORS
While blush and champagne color palettes are here to stay for a while (and are very romantic tones) I am excited to see bold color elements pop back into the rotation!  Think copper, navy, marsala, all shades of grey, rich emerald greens!  LOVE LOVE LOVE any color palette that gives a vivid punch of color.

TREND #5: SIMPLE SAVE THE DATES
Photo Save the Dates are definitely still popular, but keeping with the “everything old is new again” trend … I am seeing a lot of clients choose to do a non-photo Save the Date for wherever reason.  Maybe they didn’t have engagement photos completed in time … maybe their schedules are WAY to hectic to even fit that in at all …. or maybe they didn’t want to send out a “fall” styled photo for a summer wedding …. whatever the reason is, I love a good, clean styled Save the Date to kick off the design of the wedding stationery to come
