A Grand Night In The City

We are beyond excited to share Venessa and Colin's unique and beautiful wedding today! As one of our full planning clients, it was a blast getting to know these two very well during the planning process. Yes, I said TWO! Colin was involved every step of the way, along side and in support of his bride-to-be. With every meeting, conversation and interaction, you could tell that this was going to be a day of fun and love from both their hearts.

During our initial consultation, I knew three things; 1) Colin and Venessa were Meant (Mint) to Be ;).  2) They both were the perfect combination of professional and fun and their wedding would be too. and, 3) This was going to be a wonderful planning process and very unique and personable wedding. They explained that they wanted a very small and intimate wedding but that all of their family would be coming from out of town and wanted to make it a grand weekend experience for them. We considered the mountain theme, warehouse theme, southern theme but they ultimately landed on a city life theme. They booked the gorgeous Foundation For the Carolinas downtown and we hit the ground running! After a year and a half of many coffee & wine meetings and putting together the ideal rockstar vendor team, the day had finally arrived.

As the two got ready with loved ones at the Dunhill Hotel, across the street from their venue, and the very talented Stefanie Haviv captured their first look and pre-ceremony photos, their rockstar vendors began setting up. Who were their rockstar vendors, you might ask....

PLANNER/COORDINATOR: Mint to Be Weddings
VENUE: Foundation For the Carolinas

FLORIST/RENTALS: Ribald Events
CATERING: Best Impressions
SPECIALTY RENTALS: Evermore Classic & Vintage Rentals

FAVORS: Suarez Bakery

All of their vendors really went above and beyond to make their special day a perfect vision.

To achieve Venessa and Colin's vision, Ribald made not just one custom pipe and drape, but three!! The first was for their ceremony that was absolutely stunning! The second was a custom pipe and drape with hanging greenery, separating the ceremony from the reception. And their last pipe and drape was behind their sweetheart table and featured horizontal swag lighting! It was absolutely gorgeous.

To compliment the gorgeous drapery, we brought in two couches from Evermore for the front row of the ceremony to welcome their parents. This later was flipped into lounge seating during the reception. Colin and Venessa had fun and unique pillows on them with their custom logo that Colin designed. Colin also personally designed their save the date, invitation, menu, program and wedding signs [HOW TALENTED!]. Their custom logo also appeared on their cookie favors from Suarez and their dance floor light from Split Second Sound.

The ceremony began with beautiful live music from Wescottage Music and was absolutely lovely. It was a standing ceremony that offered their guest hightops with chivari stools. They exchanged their vows as their close friend, Ian, married them. With the city behind them and their feet adorn with romantic candle light and rose pedals, Colin and Venessa became husband and wife.

After the ceremony, cocktail hour began and DJ Anthony from Split Second Sound took over. It was a very fun night of dancing, toasts, laughter and love up until the very end for their exit. They even had a Build-Your-Own McFlurry Bar by Best Impressions!

It was such an honor to get to know Venessa and Colin, experience their love and watch them grow as a couple through the process. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Quinn! Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness together.
