Mint to BEE

Over the past year and a half, I have had the pleasure of working with and planning my big brother's wedding! It was so special and an honor to work with him and his partner on their special day and then personally experience it all at the wedding. I was on triple duty with his wedding as the coordinator, maid of honor AND sister. Luckily, I have an AMAZING team - Brittany and Katie busted their butts to allow me to enjoy the evening and flawlessly executed the event.

Mac and Jared are Bee Keepers so of course, I was excited when they told me that they wanted a very tropical and "bee" theme to their wedding. We incorporated little bee details into their big day, such as the invitations, wedding cake, guest book, card holder, table numbers, etc. Even their favors were personalized and bee themed; they gave their guest jars of honey that were produced by their personal bees in Winston Salem. How sweet .... literally!

Their wedding was at the beautiful Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont. They were married by the fabulous Rev. Rebecca Nagy in the White Garden which was enhanced thanks to their florist who added lush white flowers behind them. Their ceremony was lovely and standing there with them to witness it was so very special.

The wedding party was co-ed on each side and wore very bright and vibrant colors. We sure added a lot of color to the white garden between our dresses, the mens ties and all of our flowers!

Also, when you have an amazing photographer like Amanda with Head Over Heels Photography, she will do fun things like smoke photos!! How amazing is this?! Spur of the moment and a surprise for the guys, she grabbed the groomsmen to help set the smoke bombs off to get this shot.

Then came the reception with A LOT of fun! They had some of our favorite vendors featured there!

Ribald Farms did all of the breath-taking and unique florals throughout the venue and truly made their tropical theme come to life!

Their amazing cake was designed and created by the talented Lisa Toohey with Cake Expressions. She took their theme and knocked it out of the park with a 4-tier cake featuring dripping honey, chocolate honey combs, and even gold bees. Not to mention that it was absolutely delicious!

Needless to say, the guys enjoyed it!

Split Second Sound was there to bring in the noise for their grand entrance and bring down the house as guest danced the night away! The guys entrance was to Death of A Bachelor by Panic! At the Disco and their first dance was to Stand By Me by Florence and the Machine

Split Second Sound kept wedding guest out on the dance floor with a variety of music. They played fun line-dance songs like the Cuban Shuffle & Wobble, throw-back songs such as Beastie Boys and NSYNC and also took requests later in the evening. Jared's mother, Pam, and her friends even did an entire dance performance to a song from their Zumba class!

It was a very special day and we would like to thank all of their fabulous vendors for their talents and for making it a seamless event. A HUGE thank you again to my amazing team for allowing me to be a part of the day stress-free.
