Don't Forget the Small Details

Weddings are a lot of planning with big decisions and questions but it is important not to forget the small details during the process and designing!

Small details are one of my favorite aspects of weddings and can really make your wedding unique and fun. During the planning process I always like to go over the small details with clients because those are typically, but not always, the last minute items that they consider and then panic to get. These are also items that couples don't always account for in their budget and add up quick at the end.

Mint to Be partnered up with over 13 other vendors in the area to create a "white out" styled shoot in the beginning of 2017. While planning and working along side these fantastic vendors, we made sure to include all the small details so that it truly portrayed a wedding design from top to bottom.

So to avoid becoming overwhelmed and over budget in the last month of your wedding planning when you're going through all the logistics and check lists, think about these throughout the process!

Stationery & Signage
I LOVE personalized stationery. Whether is it a unique save the date, a beautiful invitation suite, a special program or a fun reception menu, custom stationery can add great little touches to your special day. They also really give a feel of who you are, what your style is and what can be expected of the night! Signs are a fun and inexpensive way to add to your wedding decor as well. They can be fun, sweet, directional, personalize and/or generic! In this shoot, we went with a crisp acrylic look, fun marquee "PLAY" lights and marble name "cards".

Cake & Cake Table Decor
Don't forget about your cake and cake table! Cake's can be truly beautiful and a lot of couples like to make them a focal point at their wedding. Don't forget to add the small details; cake cutter/knife, special linen, champagne flutes, cake topper, flowers, votives, a fun sign, etc. Sweet Scene Cakes did a phenomenal job on this "geod" cake and accented it with a fun sequin linen and crystal clear cake knife and server. There was so much detail on the cake itself that we barely had to add anything to it!

Bar Fun
Although the caterers/bartenders do a good job of setting up a nice bar with beverage options displayed, it doesn't hurt to add to it and have some fun. Add a signature cocktail, fun koozie's for your guest to take or silly signs! On our bar, we featured a White Chocolate-tini cocktail which was garnished with rock candy, cigar bar and the giant "PLAY" marquee lights to go with the fun large games provided during cocktail hour.

Beauty & Accessories

We had an amazing team to work on hair, make up and the small details like jewelry, signature hair pieces, attire, etc. Our gentlemen were in all grey suites with silver ties and brown shoes and our groom had an amazing personal bow-tie to bring to the shoot. Following our "white out" theme, not only was our beautiful bride in white but all of the bridesmaids were as well! We even had an adorable little flower girl who brought an infectious smile to the day. We had two stunning wedding gowns for the shoot with lots of glitz and glam accessories, including a mesmerizing all broach bouquet!

Sweetheart Table/Head Table
For this shoot we decided to do both a head table AND sweetheart table since we had a full wedding party of models. We chose a serpentine table design with tall focal points since the venue had vaulted ceilings. We displayed full place settings and greenery cascading down the middle with fun crystals. For the sweetheart table, our fabulous floral vendor created backings for the bride and groom and we puddled the front of their table with greenery and lanterns.

Make an Exit
Last but not least, we of course did a grand exit! We decided to stray away from the normal trend of sparklers and bubbles and brought it back to old school confetti. It took a couple takes but we got some great photos and had a blast!

Thank you to ALL vendors who partnered together on this shoot and made it possible/such a success. Your time and talents shine through these gorgeous photos and I am so appreciative. Also, a HUGE thank you and shout out to all of our fabulous models! We had 9 models on this shoot and we shared lots of laughs and smiles.
